International Adoption

The adoption is a legal act establishing a parent-child relationship as it would be by origin. The adoption provides a parental care and family environment for raising the child along with satisfying the natural human pursuit of motherhood and fatherhood. The international adoption is the adoption of a child, whose habitual place of residence is the Republic of Bulgaria, by a person, whose habitual place of residence is a foreign country, in case the possibilities for the adoption of the child inside the country have been depleted.
According to Bulgarian law the matter has been regulated by the Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption, Family Code and any other regulations.
